We would like to give thanks for our continued support on our endeavour to connect Ireland via a seaplane service, we are currently receiving vast amounts of support and have decided to publish some of it below.
I own and operate a budget accommodation facility in Dromineer and certainly would welcome any new business on Lough derg that would enhance the area and the profile of our area.
I have just read the article in the Clare champion, and am dismayed at the lack of support that is being shown for your seaplane. I am a resident in mountshannon and think the idea is extremely enterprising. I feel sure that if a poll were to be carried out amongst the residents in the village you would find similar support. Good luck in your endeavours!
I would like to offer my support and wish you the best of luck with your venture. Having learned to fly seaplanes on and around Lake Michigan, I have seen firsthand how seaplanes can enhance other water sports such as fishing and boating. It is quite common here in the States to use seaplanes to access fishing areas and resort lakes. I can’t wait to use your service.
Despite the fact that I live in the area 2 miles by road from the village. I only heard about your plans for a boat plane today (8.1.10) in the paper.
I think the idea is brilliant and whilst many of the objections I am aware of may have some grounds for concern, overall you should be getting support especially in these times when everyone is afraid to do anything. I was always dismayed at lack of people/tourist in the village throughout the year and how it would be great if we could get some of the people from the other side of the lake over here.. I can see immediately how this service will increase the tourist numbers and bring life to an otherwise quite village and tourist will come even despite the weather.
I am not dependent on the tourist trade, but I am a regular user of the lake in my small sailing boat, so I guess that gives me a right to have a opinion on what happens on the lake.
Anyway I could go on, but I just hope that common sense (which doesn’t appear to be common anymore) will prevail with the decision makers and I will be expressing my support for the idea to my local councillors.
There is already a plane landing at luska bay N.E of mountshannon on derg causing no harm to birds , fish or other wildlife.

Hi,
I am sure you are aware that there was a number of seaplanes based on Lough derg for many years. 4 alone between Killaloe and Mountshannon.
I cannot understand the objections raised and as I live on the shore myself I think your service would be of great benifit to the area. Well done and I hope it works out.
Regards
Denis
What about the environmental impact on the area? What are you going to give back to the ordinary residents of Mountshannon for the dessimation of their area.
Who is this service for? Rich businessmen who want to exploit the property market I guess!
Certainly NOT for tourists!!!! Who are you trying to fool?
Typical of a company like yours…Profit over people and environment.
I for one hope the people of Mountshannon do fight this…They are being exploited with empty promises about tourism, so you can line your pockets with even more cash.
THIS IS NOT A SERVICE FOR THE ORDINARY TOURIST OR RESIDENT BUT FOR WEALTHY PROPERTY DEVELOPERS WHO CAN SEE A PROFIT IN YOUR AREA!!!
I congratulate the entrepreneurs behind this venture and encourage you to see it through to launch, despite the usual begrudging NIMBYs. I personally can’t wait to avail of your service (and I don’t even know a property developer!)
